Latest Updates from Our Project:

Lillian Action Figure coming on Friday
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 26, 2021 at 08:30:05 PM

Hey Glarien fans,

Sorry to bombard you with updates right before the holidays.  But I did want to give you all a heads up about an extra special Kickstarter that's launching Black Friday (in two days).  Tracker Collectables is going live with a Kickstarter for Phantom Starkiller and The Electric Black's Julius Black.

And for those of you wondering what that has to do with a Lillian (Glarien's daughter) action figure.  Well, we're thrilled to announce, when they hit 45K, a Lillian Figure will unlock.

It's been so much fun working with Tracker crafting the figure.

You can sign up for the campaign HERE.  All three of the figures are incredible cool. I'm planning to get the full set myself.  But if you just want a Lillian one, you'll be able to do that once she unlocks.  So let's help them get off to a big start so we can make sure this happens. (Again, if you just want a Lillian, you can always switch your pledge down the line)  There will also be an Exclusive "Action Figure" variant cover of Scout's White Ash #1.

And a CGC version for the hardcore collectors.

As a creator on kickstarter I've been incredibly lucky to have such amazing support from all of you. Having an action figure made of one of our creations, it's beyond what we envisioned when we first brought White Ash to kickstarter.  Thank you again for making it all possible.

In that spirit, I like to support as many other projects on kickstarter as I can.  One amazing project that's ending in a couple of days is the anthology Nightmare Theatre 2.

This is an amazing collection of stories from some of the best writers working in independent comics. I was fortunate to be part of Nightmare Theater One, so I know how much care Clay and David put into choosing the stories that they include in the anthology. If you enjoyed the first one, or just love a good horror tale, Nightmare Theatre is a must back.

Have an amazing Thanksgiving/ Thursday everyone,

Charlie

New Kickstarter dropping in one week plus shipping update
over 2 years ago – Wed, Nov 24, 2021 at 12:29:38 AM

Hello Glarien fans,

I wanted to start out with a shipping update.  I apologize as this is taking a bit longer than fulfillment has in the past.  The sheer volume of orders and different permutations of reward combinations is a good order of magnitude beyond what I've done before.  But we're getting there.  Currently we're at 91% fulfilled.

While we'll be taking a few days off for Thanksgiving, the goal is to have all the orders out the door by early next week... with the exception of the orders for our Australian friends.

If you live in Australia... I'm sorry, as I'm sure you've been getting this update from many different KS projects. The USPS is currently not shipping first class international to your country.  I'm looking into other options, but so far everything I've found is exorbitantly expensive. Hopefully, this will change in the next couple of weeks.  If not, I'll contact you all individually and we can discuss the best options going forward.  Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and extra wait.

Maybe not the best note for a transition, but I'm super excited to announce we'll be launching our new kickstarter, HISMWTC next Tuesday, November 30th.

HISMWTC A Cover by Emiliana Pinna

As I said in the last update, this is a bit of a departure in tone from what I've done before. HISMWTC follows Stephanie, an ambitious young college freshman who's swept up into a game of cat and mouse with a brilliant professor, whom she discovers is running a high-end escort service using students as call girls.  Think House of Cards having a three-way with How To Get Away With Murder and The Girlfriend Experience.

You can sign up to be notified when we go live HERE.

And if you want a little taste of the attitude of the series, below is the world premiere of the teaser.

I hope you'll join me in checking it out.

Thanks again, everyone.  If you celebrate Thanksgiving, have a wonderful one.  If you don't, have a fantastic Thursday.

Best,

Charlie

Shipping Update plus a New Kickstarter Launching Soon
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 08, 2021 at 03:16:11 PM

Happy Sunday, Glarien fans.

I wanted to check in and give you all a quick update on how the shipping was going. Thanks to Backerkit, I have this handy graphic that shows you exactly where we're at.

"Only" 330 packages left to go.  As I said in the last update, these are the slightly more complicated orders that take additional time and care to prepare. But the last of the packages should be in the mail sometime in the next two weeks. Which is why I'm very excited to announce an all-new series that I'm prepping to bring to Kickstarter.

HOW I SLEPT MY WAY THROUGH COLLEGE AND OTHER TALES FROM FRESHMAN YEAR

This is a bit of a departure in tone from what I've done before with Glarien, White Ash and The Game (No elves or dwarves in this one).

You can SIGN UP HERE to be notified when we go live.  As with all our campaigns, we'll have limited rewards and early-bird specials for returning backers.  I'll have a more extensive preview of the book next week for you along with another shipping update.  So if you've enjoyed Glarien, I hope you'll check it out.

Speaking of Glarien, we're looking to come back with a Kickstarter for Chapter Two in early spring.  We want to make sure the art is finished this time before we launch, that way we won't have any delays. 2022 is shaping up to be a big year for us on Kickstarter.  We have a lot of fun things to announce and we'll always let our backers know first what's coming up.

And while I'm on the subject of making sure our backers are in the loop, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention two really fun projects now on Kickstarter that will be wrapping up their campaigns in the next week or so.  The first is COMPANY OF THE EAGLE from John Perez.

Billed as an Anticolonial Fantasy, John and Goran Gligović have created an incredibly rich world seamlessly mixing dark magic and and a historical narrative that will make you think while taking you on a wild ride of adventure.  This campaign ends in 4 days, so I recommend you CHECK IT OUT NOW.

And from long time friend of White Ash and Glarien, Karla Nappi is kickstarting the latest issue of Duplicant.

This is the conclusion of the first arc of the hit series. If you haven't come across Duplicant before on Kickstarter or in comic book shops though Second Sight publishing, now is the perfect time to check it out. Karla is an incredible writer and her tale of modern medicine gone horribly wrong is one of my favorite books being released on the platform right now.  Take a look and see what all the horrifying fuss is about.

Thanks again everyone for your patience as we finish up fulfillment. I'll be back next week with another update on shipping and an extended backer-only early look at HISMWTC.

All the best,

Charlie

Fulfillment HAS Begun (for real, this time)
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 01, 2021 at 05:09:00 AM

Hello there Glarien fans,

The long wait is just about over.  Last Thursday, a huge pallet of comics arrived at White Ash HQ.  We immediately sprang into action, bagging and boarding so we could get shipments underway.  Which we have.  Just over 600 packages have now been mailed out leaving just under 500 to go.  These last 500 are slightly more complex orders, so they'll take a little longer, but we're going to do our very best to make sure that everything will have been shipped in the next two-three weeks. As we all know, shipping times are all over the map, so please have patience.  But if you live in the United States and don't have your rewards by the end of November, please reach out.  International backers, I'd like to say you'll get yours in roughly the same timeframe... but there's a good chance you'll need to add another 2-4 weeks.

I'll be posting (roughly) weekly to keep you updated on the progress of the shipping.  And very soon I'll be dropping details about HISMWTC... a kickstarter for an all-new series that I'll be launching in November

Speaking of kickstarter, I want to point out two great projects from friends of mine that are currently on the platform.  The first, which is ending in FOUR DAYS comes from Rob Multari,

SNOW PAW is a spin-off from Rob's incredibly popular Night Wolf series.  Rob's been buidling an incredibly rich world of his own take on the werewolf lore. With Snow Paw, Rob dives into the origins of one of his most exciting characters.  I think Glarien backers will really appreciate the strong female characters that Rob is creating.  As I said above, Snow Paw is live for only four more days, so now's the time to CHECK IT OUT.

Also out on Kickstarter right now is the latest from Steven Prince's Monster Matador world.

Steven describes the book as "delightfully demented Kaiju throw-down that follows Matador Ramon Alejandro Estévez Guerrero as he travels a post-apolcalyptic future to fight monsters and make a better world for his daughter"  I like to say, it's a whole lot of "are you kidding me???"  This book is a blast.  The action is non-stop, over the top fun.  It's a great concept with absurdly entertaining execution.  Give M.M Afripocalypse a chance and check out the insanity.

Thanks again for all the continued patience. We know it took a bit longer to deliver than our previous projects, but we couldn't be prouder of how Glarien turned out.  We hope you enjoy the first chapter.  And look forward to bringing you the next installment of Glarien early next year.

All the best,

Charlie

Fulfillment has (ALMOST) begun
over 2 years ago – Wed, Oct 20, 2021 at 06:59:31 AM

Hello exceedingly patient Glarien fans,

I was hoping to send out an update today saying that fulfillment had begun. Unfortunately, instead of spending the last two days unloading the pallet of comics and prepping them for shipment, I’ve been on the phone with UPS tracking them down. Yes, Glarien has become another victim of the numerous shipping delays that are wreaking the country. It appears they’re on a boxcar on a train somewhere in the middle of the county… a train that’s on a track that had mechanical difficulties. (I can’t make this up). So according to UPS they should be ready to schedule a delivery with me next Friday. Which likely means I won’t have them until the week of the 25th.

But they are done. Really. Conor actually already got his copies (via a non-pallet shipment) earlier this week. See.

Conor says they look amazing. And he’s been reaching out to backers who ordered a sketch cover so he can get started on those. So if that’s you (a sketch cover backer), and you haven’t heard from Conor yet, check your junk mail. And if you don’t see it there, DM me on Kickstarter and I’ll put you in touch.

But we’re so close now. Thank you for your patience. Very soon Romina’s beautiful artwork will be heading your way.

Speaking of Romina’s artwork, if you’ve liked what you’ve seen from her on Glarien of White Ash, she has another book live on Kickstarter right now with Jimmy Palmiotti -- PAINKILLER JANE.

I know how much fun I have working with Romina and I'm sure she and Jimmy are having a blast collaborating together. The preview pages on their project certainly read that way to me. From Marvel to Kickstarter, Jimmy's been making incredible comics for close to three decades now. This latest iteration of Painkiller Jane with Romina is just adding to that amazing body of work.  And with Romina on board I couldn't be more excited to share it with you.

Have a great weekend everyone.  I'll be back hopefully in a week or so with pictures of the pallet.  And with the official announcement that your books are in the mail.

Best,

Charlie
